I've got a Lelit Anna PID with the 57mm portafilter. 58mm wasn't an option when I bought it, but I sure woulda loved to have had the option.

In any event, I'm looking for a tamping station to fit my bottomless and my spouted portafilters for it. Nearly everything you can find online is for 58mm or 53mm. Ideally looking for something that isn't just plastic (3D printed), and would be great to have a space to stick tools like tamper, etc.

Wondering what other Lelit/Acaso folks do for for tamp stations.

Thanks.

The one I linked to here also does other sizes: 49mm Tamping Station? Although Tidaka makes good stuff, it is a little pricey.

Some of the "U"-shaped stands should work, e.g., Joe Frex, Cafelat.

On my 57mm machine I used a tamping mat.

Thanks! Yeah that's sorta what I was wondering about the U-shaped ones.

With a tamping mat, how are you ensuring the portafilter is level? My Lelit naked filter is angled from the handle, so it seems like just lying it flat is a little subject to the angle you're holding the handle at any given time.

Um, this is going to sound dumb, but I don't worry about the portafilter being level any more. For many years, I used the (no-longer-available) Lyn Weber portafilter stand for the HG-1, which could be precisely adjusted for level. Then I got a machine whose portafilter wouldn't fit the stand. I eventually developed the finger/muscle memory to hold spouted portafilters against the counter's/tamping mat's edge and put the tamper parallel to the basket regardless of how the portafilter was angled and which portafilter I was using. For most of my bottomless portafilters, the bottom of the portafilter is parallel so I can just sit the portafilter on a tamping mat - but note that counters may not be level.

Yeah I guess that makes sense. I'm looking for something to tamp on and keep some tools uncluttered, but I suppose a tamping mat could suffice easily enough.

If you want a wood one that holds other stuff, then I'd suggest somewhere like Etsy. Find one you like - and is actually made by the seller and not just something imported - and ask for a custom job. I've done that for other coffee-related items and it has worked out well for me.
