After I saw the video clip on barista hustle's upcoming autocomb, I went looking for alternatives that are already available that mechanise the wdt process and make it more consistently the same from shot to shot. I came across the following...

Has anyone used this particular tool before? Does it work as advertised?

Interesting. It also comes in a 54mm size unlike the Duomo.
Old baristas never die. They just become over extracted.

I've purchased both v1 and v2 of this version but it looks like the seller took his Etsy page down.

I have the 54mm v1 and 58mm v2. I much prefer the v2 and my wife and I use both daily. I still end up doing a small bit of manual wdt, but it significantly helped with consistency.

I think my friend was a beta tester of the one you linked and was quite happy with it.

Many thanks for your feedback. I had gone ahead amd ordered one so im glad your friend found it useful.

I think this design ought to in theory reproduce manual wdt much more accurately than devices like the duomo device which seems to merely send stationary needles orbiting around the centre on fixed tracks. I hope it will have positive results in the cup and hope to report back on this thread when i have received it

This design is interesting. I'm wondering if there is a vertical adjustment for different basket depths?

From the video clip in the ad the depth of the needles seems fixed.

Hmmn. That would be a shame, as otherwise it looks very interesting.

The one I have does have a way to change the depth. That was important for my workflow in that I didn't want to take off my dosing funnel prior to use.

To clarify mine is not for sale at this time. I reached out to the seller to see if he will respond as we worked on a few iterations.

Do the needles in your particular device have needles that rotate as they orbit round the portafilter? Or are the needles stationary as they orbit? In other words does your device operate similarly to the normcore or the Duomo the Eight devices?
