Hi Coffee newbie here.... Please am looking for recommendations on replacement burrs for the Baratza Sette 270 grinder? I assume I need the outer ring and inner cone as well? Pls advise what to get for espresso and where I should buy from. I see and S2 and a BG but not sure the best one for espresso. also I only saw the inner cone for sale and not sure if I need to change both inner cone and outer ring.
I have had this grinder for several years (+- 10 Y) and recently started to develop a lot of jets coming out of the bottom of the portafilter on my Mini Vivaldi II.. which makes a real mess. I tried everything else to mitigate but it is still doing it. An experienced friend said I should try changing the burrs.
I make mostly espresso and use the Malabar Gold coffee.
All advice welcome .. Thank you

The BG and S2 burrs are actually the same burr. In 2019 Baratza renamed their burrs from AP )all puepose) and BG (Brew Grind?) to S1 & S2.
If your grinder is that old then you need to either add a shim under the center burr or as your friend suggested get another burr. You can only add up to 2 shims as far as I know. If you already have the shims added then its time to look at burrs.
The S1 (AP) burr will be your best bet for espresso.

The outer burr is apart of the gear box assembly. Looking at Baratza support they used to sell just the gear box for $40. Currently I am only seeing the gearbox and motor assembly sold together for $100.

You can always call/email Baratza themselves. They've been very helpful to me in the past.
They also have a repair program. https://mybreville.force.com/BrevilleSa ... nd=Baratza
Hope that helps
