MC747 35L water softener, out of stock everywhere

Does anyone know where I can get an MC747 35L water softener cartridge? They are out of stock everywhere in the USA, and the vendor where I purchased my Elizabeth does not recommend recharging the one I have which will be 6 months old in about a week. They don't recommend recharging or descaling.... so what is one supposed to do? I checked with a China distributor & $50 to ship out (NO) and a Canadian distributor--$40 to ship out (again, no). Thanks.
