Just in case anyone needs one Graingers has these on sale about ½ the price of Omega's offering. I have no business tie to Graingers.

The link didn't work for me, is it the TMD-52? Price shows $113.30, no additional info on the spec page,
doesn't appear to have an output for computer link-up.

Hard for a non-techie to decipher. Is it 2 K type thermocouple connections? If so, does one have to be set to input temps in F while the other inputs into C?

I'd be stoked to find a logger that gathered data from 3 K type thermocouples and store all the info in C. Then make that into useful data that can bee seen on my mac, or heck if im lucky, an app to use on my iPad. That would be the ultimate!

I ordered one and will find out if it is worthwhile, my experience with the Amprobe name has been good, so I don't think I have much to lose. I accidentally bought the Fluke 52 on ebay a year or two ago when I wanted the features of the 54, I'll be able to compare this to it.

Expect that both inputs will be settable to either C or F.

Amprobe has been around for just about ever. Though now-a-days an old brand name may not have much to do with the "good old" days of well made test equipment.

The manual for the TMD-55w is here:
http://content.amprobe.com/manuals/TMD- ... ng0000.pdf
Dual input and display and wireless two-way USB data transfer with software included.

Looks similar to the Extech offerings (button placement, etc.) My Extech lost its ability to communicate through the optical data cable, and one of the display LEDs stopped working properly a log time ago. Out of warranty it costs more to fix than to buy... no news there.

Congratulations & sincere thanks KDM.

You win the "Santa of the Year" award :) . This digital thermometer offering by Grainger is a STEAL as it is/definitely appears to be . . . identical to the Omega HH806AW@ $325 and Grainger has it for $110.
http://www.omega.com/pptst/HH806.html

In addition, Grainger also offers the AMPROBE TMD-56 for $119 which has the same capabilities as the TMD-55W except it is NOT wireless but has USB cable & software. The Omega equivalent to this is HH806AU which would be $242.

Personally, I favor the non-wireless for $9 more but . . . that's what opinions are all about.
Skål,
