Here's a tip for rapid startup of a Caravel, VAM or other open boiler machine. Boil water quickly on the stove to fill the tank, then power on. Do a heating flush to warm the brew chamber.

This also works during a power failure if you have a gas stove( I have a small camping one ).
It's not as easy as a Baby/Robot but it can be done.
Also, we non-US coffee addicts who benefit from 230-240v have even faster kettles and coffee machine warm up.

I dunno. You're up against an induction range and it's probably hooked up to 220v.Amberale wrote: Also, we non-US coffee addicts who benefit from 230-240v have even faster kettles and coffee machine warm up.
And yes, my Robot is the fastest to heat.
