Ok if its the tumbler it makes sense now. Does the opening at the bottom of the tumbler fit exactly 58mm? I would have thought it would be smaller than 58mm to make sure all the powder is emptied into the portafilter. If the opening is smaller than 54 mm it could still fit a 54mm portafilter. I you measure it, you could see if that is the case.

I have a made in China blind shaker tumbler that can fit most sizes of portafilter that functions in the same way that the weber tumbler does, and I like using it. I have no idea if it makes the coffee better distributed, but I have made it part of my routine along with wdt.

I would think that using a collar on a 54mm PF would allow you to use the blind shaker from either the Key or EG-1.
