Yep....happened to me from time to time but still better than missing the knock box and grinds all over the counter and floor.

I have the Tubbi and love it. I also compost my pucks so it makes it convenient storage of the spent pucks between trips to the compost!

I like the Breville knock box https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000MDASE8/re ... 4421082856
I have had mine for 6+ years. It has lasted very well. I like the fact that the entire inner part comes out to be dumped and washed. It looks decent enough that my wife has never complained about it being out on the counter. The fact that it is brushed aluminum means it is understated so it doesn't stand out nor does it show stains or water spots.

I've used the grindenstein (small) for quite a while and it was OK but easy to knock stray grinds everywhere and it was lousy when u hit it. My wife got me the LA marzocco walnut knockbox and it's been fantastic. Metal is very very thick and not tinny, it looks great on the counter and holds plenty of pucks for a party.

I personally wanted something that looked nice and fit in aesthetically with the rest of my kitchen.

I'm guessing it holds ~18-20 pucks.

I use the Breville as well. Agree is nice and understated. I'd much rather dump and rinse it every 4-5 days, than to walk to garbage can or sink every day. Very easy to rinse out.pizzaman383 wrote:I like the Breville knock box https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000MDASE8/re ... 4421082856

Super happy Cafelat Tubbi owner/user here. Had a couple other knock boxes and didn't like them for various reasons. Then when Paul intro'd at an SCAA event I attended I opted into small and moved to the large when they became available. Simple, effective, durable, easy & quick to clean; have not found a downside other than I prefer larger to smaller size.
I like Paul's new square shape better but would prefer it to be at least the capacity of the large round Tubbi.

I have a very good quality knockbox that came with my espresso machine, but since I only do one or two cups daily I just use a simple silicone spoon rest. I don't have to worry about damaging my portafilter or countertops when using it, the cleanup is extremely easy can I put everything away in a few seconds.

I use the 6.5" stainless steel Motta knockbox. Large enough for about 25-30 pucks, disassembles easily for complete cleaning, but easy to rinse and wipe without taking it apart. Rubber on bottom and on cross bar and rubber edging. It doesn't budge when you hit it with the PF.

At first I used various plastic containers, tubs and the like. Broke a few, some worked okay, some didn't. When i purchased my Bezzera Strega I got them to throw in a Cafelat large Tubbi knockbox. I'd never go back. It serves as both a knockbox and trashcan on the bench. Great design.
