I'm looking for advice on which auto drip brewer to get for our 28' camper. Not living in it full-time, just weekend warrior/week long trips throughout the year.

We currently have a Breville precision brewer at home and like it, but is on the larger side.

Criteria: something compact, metal carafe, simple to use, makes a great cup, and has minimum 8 cup capacity.

So far, this is my list I'm considering, but please feel free to add any I've missed, or give your thoughts on best choice.

Ratio 6 - the one I want the most and read the best reviews of, but might be a little large, but still smaller than the breville. Also the most expensive

OXO 8 -most compact, simple, but unsure about quality, even though it is SCAA certified

Brazen - have heard it is finicky, is a bit tall

Technivorm - don't want to have to stop and stir grounds for best cup results, but love that it's built like a tank

Would love to gather options, suggestions, etc before pulling the trigger

Bonavita seems to have arisen from the corporate disagreements of the recent past and is back in the USA.

Have you seen The Grind Control by Breville? If you are not picky about your grinder, it might be a handy option. I've not used it, nor do I know anyone who has--just looking at the website.

I have both the Ratio 8 and the Breville Precision. The Breville makes better coffee, but my Ratio 8 is one of the early models, and I'm not convinced it's doing the bloom correctly. There are a few people here that have Ratios and like them.

You may not want to consider this, but the CleverDripper is what I use for camping. It's quick, easy, and forgiving. But you would have to make more than one batch through the morning (it's not automatic). It also saves having something on your counter. And you wouldn't have to have 120v to make coffee (gas stove to boil water).

Thanks for the replies!

Bonavita used to be my go-to recommendation but thought they had gone out of business. Will have to take a look again.

I looked at the grind control, but I'm wary of any built in grinder, will likely be bringing my hand grinder.

Love the clever dripper, and if it was just the wife and I camping I'd probably use it, but with 2 small kids and 2 dogs, I just want simplicity in the morning :)

So right now it's likely ratio 6, oxo 8 or bonavita I think. Been reading good reviews of the oxo and think it would be the most counter and cabinet friendly. Would be interested to hear if anyone here has any experience with it.
