Yea, not surprised the Sette is noisy as my Virtuoso is also a noisy machine too. About how many seconds does it take for you to grind a espresso shot, say 18-20 grams or so?
On my 270 Wi, 18 grams in 6 yo 8 seconds, depending on the beans.

Just to confirm from my own experience. I have a Sette 30 with the 270 adjustment ring. The timer is set at 7.28s for 18g espresso. Beans are usually done before 7.0 unless they are particularly hard or I'm grinding particularly fine.

I single dose and keep the timer at 10s for 17-19g of coffee. Actual grind time is probably 6-8s but with single dosing I occasionally get a bean or two popcorning.

I have a Virtuoso+ and it seems much quieter than the Sette. I think the Sette noise is at a much higher frequency making it appear considerably louder. I am careful to say "seem" here, I remember seeing someone measure and compare decibel output and it being comparable. I don't know much about the science of sound.
