Good evening,

I am looking to get some advice around purchasing my first espresso setup. This setup is for light home use about 2-3 drinks per day. I usually drink an americano or cortado in the morning and a cortado or flat white in the afternoon. I haven't developed a preference to dark medium or light roasts yet.

My current budget is around 2,000 for the entire set up.

The two setups that I'm currently considering are:

Lelit Anna with P64 grinder ($2,154)

Ascaso uno or duo with df64p grinder ($1,800/$2,144)

Would be open to any advice regarding this! Thank you!

It's not that "Classic" look, but my personal preference is the Breville Dual Boiler and either a Niche Zero or the DF64.

If you think you will want to look into light roast espresso, the go with the DF 64 as it has many options for burrs, where as the NZ has 1.

The BDB, if maintained properly, will give you many years of faithful service and offers flow control with mods that cost from $0.00 to a few pennies and take from 2 minutes to an hour or two to complete.
