Hi,
I am considering buying a "new" (aka unused) Rocket Giotto Evo v1 for about $500 off the price of a v2. I say "new" as the Evo v2 has been out for at least 3 years. My understanding is that the primary differences between the v1 and the v2 is that the v2 includes an insulated boiler and new black gauges. I've also heard that Rocket reorganized the internals. Is there anything else that I am missing?
Assuming that not much else has changed, $500 is a lot to pay for the updates available in the v2. However, I don't know whether there could be issues with buying a ~3 year old machine that has been sitting around (I've come across posts claiming that the Giottos don't age well when not being used).
Any help would be appreciated, particularly from Rocket users.

Electronics have a tendency to go bad when not used for a while. Thinking the rest of it should be ok. IMO $500 isn't enough though.

Thanks. Do you know why that is, exactly?
I really like the look of the Evo, but I'm probably better off going with one of my other options like the VBM Domobar Super

Corrosion in one form or another. Use inhibits this.
Who are you buying it from? If they will certify it works and let you return it if you have any problems, then may be a good deal. I would still off $750 off though, I'm thinking they will take it if it has been sitting there for 3 years.
