For those shopping for home brewers that meet SCAA standards, you will be pleased to know that SCAA has just certified two new brewers from OXO and one from Wilfa. Details here (for OXO): http://www.scaa.org/chronicle/2015/10/1 ... ee-makers/ and for Wilfa: http://www.scaa.org/chronicle/2015/10/1 ... fee-maker/

I have a gift card for Williams Sonoma and was really interested in the Wilfa---until I read the reviews. Here's a link:

I understand that many of these reviewers are not home baristas, but I've read a lot of WS reviews and this machine has by far the highest percentage of negative ones.

I at least like mine, haven't had any issues with it so far. Purchased in April, use it 3-4 times a week.

I've had mine for about 10 months. We use it on average 2-3 times a week and have not had any issues. For reference, the other Wilfa thread is here: Wilfa Precision coffee brewer.

I looked at the Wilfa Brewer in one of the Willams Sonoma Stores.
In Picture the Wilfa looks nice, but when actually looking at it in the Store, I just could not justify to pay that much.
Just looks cheaply build, they had only the black colored version on display, not impressed at all.
I use my Brewer on a daily basis, even twice a day, so something like the Wilfa would probably not have a long lifetime.

I went to the SCAA page listing of brewers and looked into the new digital version of Bonavita. It now has a digital clock and timer and digital setting for pre-infusion. I may get this for my new office suite if others there are willing to chip in. Otherwise a PID kettle and Clever Coffee Dripper have served well for personal needs.
To provide informed consent to my office mates I'll have to tell them we're bookended two blocks either way between Compass Coffee's two downtown shops. The new shop is looking really good and should open soon, I hope.

FYI, I use the kalita 185 (stainless steel) as a basket for the bonavita brewerdrgary wrote:I went to the SCAA page listing of brewers and looked into the new digital version of Bonavita.
