Anyone know about what year this grinder was made? I've done some searching, but can't seem to come up with a definitive date...

Also, would it be sufficient for grinding espresso?

I'd guess that it is unlikely to grind for espresso. It's an old enough grinder that I suspect it pre-dates espresso as a common method of coffee preparation. Further, it has a stepped adjustment mechanism, which you can see just above the painted hopper. Also, I suspect the hopper, which is held in place with tacks, will wobble at a tight grind setting, simply due to the high forces required for espresso grinding.
It's a super cool old Peugeot grinder, though. Generally speaking, Peugeot grinders are best suited for brewing; many of their models have features that are not common on other hand grinders that are especially well suited for French press. Your best bet for dating the mill is via the metal badge.
