I had dinner at Vero in the Minneapolis St Paul airport the other day and they had a machine I'd never seen before. It looks a lot like a GS3 - the way the group sticks out with the paddle on top, but it's not quite the same. It has two gauges to the left of the single group but no buttons on the right. The whole thing (except maybe the portafilter handle) is shiny metal. The wait staff couldn't tell me what it was but said they were told by management that it cost over $10k. Any idea what it could be?

Maybe a Synesso brand of machine? The Cyncra? http://synesso.com/models/

Or, a Slayer brand machine?

I think it's got to be a Synesso. I forgot to mention but it has a small squarish digital readout just above the group. The Whole Bean, a nearby dedicated coffee shop, for sure has a Synesso - maybe there's some sort of contract involved.

Is there a Slayer with plain flat sides? This machines sides didn't have the external support structure on the sides that Slayers always seem to have.

Sounds very much like a Synesso to me.
