Second try I moved the grinder to 14, same process. Super slow draw down as it went for 6:00 minutes before completely draining. Anyone who has used the corning rod feel free to chime in?! Grind coarser? Also, I do not stir, I more or less push the grounds down to wet them...

Thanks
Your numbers don't help as I don't use a Virtuoso. I use a medium grind (Macap MC4), identical to the grind I use for Chemex/KONE3. I never get stalls, tad less that 2 min steep. Pull the unit off the hot burner after the steep.

While I have no experience with a Corning rod, the diameter of my Cona glass rod is too big to work reliably with my Japanese tabletop siphons. Put another way, the diameter of the hario funnel stem is slightly narrower than the cona funnel stem. That minor difference definitely impacts fluid dynamics during draw down.
