hey everybody!!!

my mazzer mini experience so far, for what it's worth

I picked up a mazzer mini-e type B (to go with my Breville 920xl) and I could not be happier!

I single-dose, so I removed the hopper and use a spare filter basket as a cover in its place. fits perfectly...

I also removed the static guard, which solved the clumping problem completely and also allows me to easily brush out retained grinds from the chute. zero grind-retention!!!

After about a year of use, I swapped out the stock burrs for 64mm dura-mill ("duranium") / titanium replacement burrs. result: much faster grind time (and no problems with the motor)

I made a wide little foil-covered plastic funnel (by slicing a large plastic vitamin container in half) that sits over the portafilter during grinding to catch all the static-y grinds and keep everything neat...

results: consistent grinding, zero grind retention, zero clumping...

if anyone's interested i'll post some photos or video of this setup. it's working quite well for me at home.

any questions / comments welcome!
