First time poster here. I just bought an older used NS Oscar, which is my first venture into HX machines. It's pulling shots and steaming fine so I have no issues with it functionally. It's probably at least 5 years old. I'd like to keep this machine around a while, so I was wondering if there are any parts on it that may benefit from being replaced even if they are working fine right now. I'm thinking of the types of parts that tend to eventually have problems if the machine is used for long enough. I'd rather put a little money into it and be proactive rather than wait for something to break and try to diagnose it.

Also, I've read various things on descaling the boiler of an Oscar -- I still am unsure whether I should do this on my machine. I'd appreciate comments/suggestions on this process. It seems like the best way to do this is by taking the machine apart and draining the boiler manually.
