I'm about to jump into the rabbit-hole and purchase my first espresso machine (I've been using my trusty Stella Moka Pot for nearly 20 years). I'm already the happy owner of a Vario, and I'm seriously considering a BDB (perhaps in 'black sesame'--anyone have one of those?). According to the specs I've seen, the BDB is 16.25" wide. Here's my question: is the machine 16.25" wide from knob to knob, or does the chassis (not counting the knobs) measure 16.25" wide? Thanks in advance for your help.

JP,
Good choice, and welcome to HB.
The 16" is at the widest point; from water tap knob on the left to steam lever actuator on the right. It's a sizeable machine - about the width of my GS/3, but quite a bit more shallow (5 or so inches).
Enjoy, and post pictures so I can see real pictures of it in black.

Thanks! I will (post pictures), though it might be several weeks before I get it.
