Hope this is the correct place to post this?
Can someone tell me where to get spare fuses for a variac? 20 amp glass cartridge 5x20. Max volts 135.
They are proving hard to find at local supply stores.

It looks like a SCHURTER 0034.3130, which is available from Newark and Mouser, would work. It's a 20 A slow-blow which is rated for 250 VAC max voltage. Common fuse ratings are 125 and 250 VAC, and you want to make sure that your rated voltage is above your maximum.

Any idea why the fuses keep popping?

They do not keep blowing. I just wanted some spares before I extended my luck. As it happened I found an out-of-the-way parts store a bit of a jump from here. They had two boxes of five left and I bought them both.

3 years of roasting with a variac/Hottop combo & no blown fuses so I have a feeling you'll be set for a long, long time.
