Freezing espresso beans to use latter?

For those of you that store your espresso beans in the freezer:
-Would a glass can with sealed lid work?
-Do I need to remove all the air from the can prior to freezing and if so how?
-If the beans are way too fresh do you wait until they have degased and then freeze them?
-or do you freeze them right away?
-any other tips are appreciated.
