Delay in Grinding - Bad Starting Capacitor?

Hi Grinder Gurus;
My current grinder is a La San Marco 90 purchased used. It has a manual doser and I am pleased with the grind uniformity; when it came home I cleaned it up and put it to work.
When I turn the power on, there is a delay - seems like forever but in actual fact it is on the order of two seconds - between when the switch is turned on and when the grind starts.
In reading various postings in this forum, I suspect that the starting capacitor is failing and should be replaced. Does this sound about right? It is a quiet delay - no hum, no pop.
Thanks
PocoJoe
