So, I have a center 301 and the optional USB cable. The disc that comes with it is for windows. Haven't been able to find any driver on the web and get it working with Artisan. Tried the PL2303 driver from prolific... Tried the CP210x driver. Still no luck.

I have OS X 10.7

Is it possible? Or do I need to just buy a different thermometer?

I do not have a CENTER 301, but my Voltkraft K204 is a essentially a CENTER 309. Its optional USB cable is based on the SiLabs CP210 chipset and not the Prolific nor FTDI one. On my OS X 10.7 the CP210x driver works flawless. You need to connect the device with the USB cable to see the new serial port in the Serial Device dialog of Artisan.

Well, sounds like there is a chance it should work then... I will pursue a little longer and may ask a Mac savvy friend or two before I give up. Thanks!
