I have a bakelite topped marked La Cara, this one was imported by Thos. Cara & sons, San Francisco.
I see there are good reviews on this machine. Would like to rebuild it and I know many others no
doubt need the seals also. Maybe a group (human) order would keep costs down as the minimum
shipping from Italy is fairly high.
Anyone here in the states know of a seals supply?

I got mine from Orphan Espresso. http://www.orphanespresso.com/search.as ... earch=Find Not sure if they still carry them. If not, Chris Cara in San Francisco might have them. You can call him at: 415-781-0383Atelier Boheme wrote:Anyone here in the states know of a seals supply?

Chris Just called me at 12:30 today (Thursday)... Tells me he hasn't any nor knows not where
to find them.As his father, John, had imported many and labeled the Zacconi, "La Cara" I thought
this might be a source. No luck however, some where they (the seals} Hide waiting to be
discovered, maybe..
Are Zacconis doomed to the junk pile???

can you post a picture of the machine? I have a la Riviera myself and I found that they use the exact same 3 seals as the ponte Vecchio Lusso/export. Riviera machines are definitely not junk.

Hmmm... I see I misread your post. I fixated on the title and I thot you were originally talking about a La Riviera...but now I see it's probably one of Thomas Cara's La Pavoni versions?
Yes...if you have a photo...that would help.

ZACCONI..
The espresso machine marked "La Cara" was labeled as such and may have been so named on other than
Zacconi machines. Chris Cara might be able to clear that up.
The Zacconi has three seals measuring approximately:
39mm width, 27mm bore and 8mm height. ( estimated by my metric tape ruler)
If anyone knows of a substitute seal, please post this information for the forum.
I believe the above machine is about 25 years old.
Thank You all

I finally reached Zacconi in Italy. They have the piston seals (3).
Any one needing them can contact them through the web.
