Any tips for a heat gun/bread machine setup?

Just re-wired the bread machine so it stirs continuously. I tried a measly half a cup to get a feel for it. I just put some aluminum over the vessel and put a digital BBQ thermometer in there, cut one hole for the heat gun, and another for the chaff to exit out of. My roast went WAY too fast. I suspect this is because I had the HG on high and only used a 1/2 cup. I think next time I'll use more and attach it to the router speed control I have. One thing I don't like is that it's kinda hard/impossible to see the roast progress.

I'd be grateful for any ideas you guys have, thanks!

Maybe you don't need foil if the roast is going too fast? Depending on what heat gun you have, you could wire the blower and heating element separately to get more heat control...

I found an adjustable heat gun at my local orange colored store for $35. Wasn't worth my while to get the cheaper version + switches, dimmers and labor to re-wire.
