I've got a spare espresso machine rather than a spare screenemradguy wrote: Would you rather have a spare sitting in a drawer for that fateful day when you need it, or be down for several days until a replacement arrives? Seems like a no-brainer to me to have one on hand (which I do).

The only shower screen I've ever had to replace on any of five separate machines is a a Bezzera part with a crappy spot-welded rim that was difficult to pry out without destroying it. I soak the screen in Cafiza every time I do a full group cleaning, and it comes out spotless. I can't imagine why you would ever need to replace a screen in normal use unless you accidentally destroyed it somehow.
