Slight confusion here, when measuring espresso size (extracted), does one normally measure including or excluding crema?
I found this measuring beaker (http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products ... ng-beaker/) so bought it just for fun (for two bucks). That is when my daughter (who is very keen on learning what dad does for espresso) asked me this question.
Currently I am not measuring using that beaker, but straight into cup and basically eyeballing it.

The standard now is by weight (in grams).
