Hi All,
It's my first post! I've been wondering which to get, what do you think? Here's my situation:
- relatively new to making, but have a long term affair with drinking
- live in Japan
- will be opening my own english school next month and want to provide good espresso for events and coffee time type nonsense
- grinder will likely be a vario, they're sold out all over japan so I might change my mind again though
My local shop friends suggested the simonelli. Breville isn't sold here in Japan but they seem to think the specs are respectable.
Thanks!

Just speaking from experience, having bought things in Japan that are not sold in the US, and trying to get those things repaired here - stick with something you can purchase and have serviced locally!

Thanks for the response. It's a very fair point. I wouldn't say that I can get local service with either though. If I want local service I'd need to buy a Delonghi! I'd probably be able to send the Simonelli for service in Japan but they Breville would have to go elsewhere.
