I don't know if "Old Will" still has an Ebay store but when they/he did you could find many of the same scales shown on their website for 50% less then the price on their site.

We've already talked about the American Weigh Scales AMW-SC-2KG Digital Pocket Scale. Very popular, good repeatability, can stand up to regular use, yadda yadda. The only drawback is its auto-shutoff which -- although it isn't particularly fast -- always cuts in at exactly the wrong time.

AWS has a new model, American Weigh Scales SC-2KG-A Digital Personal Nutrition Scale with AC Adapter, which -- when plugged in -- can remain on for as long as you like.

If you need über duty, über quality, über repeatability, über platform size, über dis und über dat, don't mind spending a few bucks, but don't want to pony up for an Ohaus, consider the My Weigh iBalance 2600 Table Top Precision Scale. I bought one a few months ago for quite a bit less than the Amazon price, but can't remember from whom.

The iWeigh 300 has lasted me for years, recently relaced as the digital readout has lost some of the lines. http://www.oldwillknottscales.com/my-we ... e-300.html
