Hello, I was thinking of adding a couple of tabs to the safety switch conductors to lower their reach down further into the bottom of the water tank. Reason being, I am always left with 500 ml or so of water in the tank and it just seems like a waste of the bottled water I put in this thing.

Is there any reason why I do not want to do this?

Thanks,

Matt

I think you need to post a pic because, if I remember correctly, that "safety level" is kinda fixed by some screw heads which contact the tank holding tabs.

I certainly would not change anything irreversibly as you are not really wasting the water . . . perhaps having to fill the tank a little sooner than expected.

Yes, you would need to fill in the existing screw holes int he tank and tap the screws lower down, so they still meet up with the lowered contacts. The easiest way is to just run a wire between the two contacts and defeat the switch. Unless you use the water tap a lot, this will not really endanger the machine.
