do you find you get a consistent tamp with the breville tamper? on my bes900, the stock tamper always felt too short and was a little too snug on the sides of the basket...felt like i was pulling a suction cup off of glass every time i pulled the sucker out after tamping.
How much were you dosing into your basket?
Roast it, Grind it, Brew it!.. Enjoy it!..

It looks like you could unscrew the spouts from the portafilter, which, while nowhere near as good as a bottomless, really helps you see if your shots pull from the center like theyre supposed to. The shot looked too long and too large to me. I cant speak for that particular coffee either, but it didnt seem quite dark enough in the crema. tighten up your grind and dose and adjust to taste. I don't know how good the internal grinder is, but you may have reached a limitation on its ability to adjust.
