I'm sure there's a thread about this somewhere, but I could not find it.
When you go away for a week or more, what needs to be done with the (plumbed in 2-boiler) espresso machine? Drain the boiler? Shut off the water supply? Or nothing at all?

Shut off the water supply and unplug the machine? A week is not exactly long-term storage. You should probably do the same thing with your dishwasher and any other plumbed appliance if you are worried about leaks.

See Preparing an espresso machine for storage; on a related note, Flood Mitigation for Plumbed Espresso Machines describes a water leakage detector that automatically shuts off the water in the event of leak. For a week or two, I agree with Chris that powering down and shutting off the water supply is sufficientinnermusic wrote:I'm sure there's a thread about this somewhere, but I could not find it.
