The 14-year-old pressurestat on my La Pavoni Europiccola died the other day. It was the kind with the ring for adjustment. As La Pavoni now uses a different model (the Mater T125), which is more awkward to adjust in situ, I looked around the Internet for the old kind. It turns out that Expobar uses a slightly modified version for some of its machines, so it's easily available. Here's the one I bought:

This replaces the old model without any fuss, and it runs (at least initially) a very tight deadband. I have it set to 0.68 - 0.75 bar. It's even tighter when the top temperature is higher. This means that when surfing for the right temperature at which to raise the lever on my LP-8, I can now pay attention to just one variable - the group temp.

Here's a photo of my new pressurestat installed. As can be seen, I ignored the two new electrical contact points, but that doesn't seem to have made any difference. It works just like the old one, only with a tighter deadband.
