I never tried the steamer, but it probably won't work very well. The boiler isn't well-designed for creating pressure. But the machine can make great espresso, and you can steam milk some other way.

In the end I sold my Mini precisely because I needed a second machine with steaming capabilities and mine did not have the steamer. It was a nice machine though, and I enjoyed using it.
