I use a 10 cc syringe and an 18 gauge needle. The syringe is easy to grip and that size needle is a good length and width.

Hehe, I see how people will react in a coffee-shop, when barista gets out a horryfyingly looking syringe with a needle, winks at a customers and begins to tamper with it inside a yoghurt can :D But anyway, I realy like the syringe idea, although I think a very thin pricker (bodkin) on a wooden handle will look nicer. :)

My clump-destroyer: a sewing needle stuck in a wine cork (port or sherry, hence the plastic cap).

Yes, the pointy end is embedded in the cork; the eye-end is thin enough to do the job.

I use an unbent thin paperclip which I have inserted into the base of one of those cheap Home Depot acid brushes. Two tools in one!
