What I meant was: any shaking of the PF involved? Stopping and starting? Etc.

The goal is to avoid the need to redistribute, since that is essentially correcting for dose "landing" errors. Rotating the portafilter while dosing is an obvious means to that end. The Vario grinder is slow enough that you should have no trouble keeping up (it's a lot trickier with a Mazzer Robur, for example, that grinds a double in 8 seconds). Don't overthink it.
