Hello everyone, this is my first post on H-B.com, and I am glad to be here.

I've got a fairly new Saeco Via Venezia and am having a pretty good experience with it. I just depressurized the portafilter according to the instructions I've found in other posts, and that's definitely improved my shots.

I'm trying to figure out how to make the right choice for a tamper. The machine didn't come with one, since it was originally pressurized.

-Does anyone know what size tamper is correct for the basket on my espresso machine? I don't trust my measurement, and I haven't got any calipers to make an accurate one anyway.

Thanks!

According to espressopart.com's piston size chart, Saeco uses 53mm or 52mm, noting that "53mm is reported to be a somewhat of a tight fit."

Thanks for the link!

I got a cheapie at a local cookstore, and then filed it down and polished it myself. Pulling some crema-tastic shots!
