Steaming on the La Pavoni?

Postby Stuggi on Tue Sep 11, 2007 3:09 pm

I'm mad. Really MAD. I can't for the love of god get any useable microfoam from the pavoni. I've tried 1,5% low fat milk, full fat UHT HYLA milk and low fat UHT HYLA milk. (read up on HYLA at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lact...ternative_products). All I get is heated milk with some bubbles ontop. I've been using a frozen 0,6 l pitcher and fridge cold milk.

What am I supposed to do?

Try this thread here:

Milk Frothing / Steaming on La Pavoni Europiccola - Modified Steam Nozzle

Apparently the direction of the holes is important, too.

I tried that mod, instant microfroth. I did my hole slightly off-center pointing away from me.

I'm happy happy happy :D

BTW, if someone's interested in these one holers for Pavonis I could easily make some more of them and post them to you for a low price...

Update:

The "stainless" acorn-nuts I used wasn't so stainless after all, so the tip started rusting. So for now I'm not making any of these tips until I can find a nice source for brass or acidproof steel nuts.
