Steaming egg nog

Postby oofnik on Fri Dec 15, 2006 12:21 am

I want to attempt to make an egg nog latte. Has anyone tried it? Does it work? I wanted to get some opinions before I blow egg nog all over my walls . So what do you guys think?

I think the worst you could do is curdle some egg-nog. Give it a go, and tell us what it's like. Is this real egg-nog, and does it have any alcohol in it? You could be onto your first sig drink...

Well that was a pleasant surprise! It worked very well and made a very tasty egg nog latte. :D
I recommend it for the holiday guests- something nice to mix with egg nog that won't make your head spin!

That would depend on their caffeine tolerance. A double shot may make some heads spin.

A double doesn't contain much caffeine. Can you really taste the coffee very much through the nog?

It might depend on their cholesterolerance. I took a look at some 'lite' 'nog to see if I might be able to try this one. 300 Mg per two tablespoon serving!

Find me something that won't tick off my ticker.

Good lord.. Are you sure you didn't read that wrong? I'm just using regular supermarket stuff and it's like 30mg per 8 ounce serving.

I've heard that if you dump a little Brandy in Egg Nog like you're supposed to that you can knock that number down to, oh probably about, 3 mg per 8 oz. serving.... Almost becomes "health food" at that point-

My brother says Starbucks mixes eggnog and non-fat milk, perhaps in a 2/3 to 1/3 ratio. I take no responsibility for any nauseating amalgamations resulting from this :P
