Yes, it's too long and not applicable to someone pulling shot ONE.

Once the fundamentals are learned, we can break the rules because we have a taste baseline. If we start off with a 30g, 4oz, 8s god-knows-what there is very little hope of developing an 'espresso' palate. The imbiber may enjoy it, but to call it espresso would be quite a stretch.
