Pictorial guide to getting the best out of pressurized baskets

Postby ezralimm on Sat Jul 05, 2008 12:24 am

I bought the Sunbeam EM4800. In the states it is marketed as the Ariete Prestige.

After using the budget machine for over a month, and initially thinking that it was a lemon, I finally figured out how to get acceptable results using a PRESSURIZED basket.

It's a bit difficult as it involves taking extra care of the basket:

1) the fine grind settings that you would be using WILL partially muck up the dual walled basket to get an acceptable pour.

2) flushing pre and post extraction is an absolute must. soaking them in water is important too.

Due to the reminder displayed by HB, i'll just post a link to the thread i created in another forum.

Hi!
At first I thought it was a request and the thought that I didn't take pictures of my friend, whom I gave my Saeco, immediately crossed my mind... yea, for he gave me money for it - over half of its price, and I guarantee that's the very best out of that machine.

ops! I didn't mean to be sarcastic.

Anyway, I see you've done much of work - though I only looked throught it - and it looks you put much care - very nice. Don't take these few lines from beginning of my post personally or like anything not-nice. I wish everybody all best and very often it means just more cash :)
