Miracle of 15 second extraction!

Postby Theodore on Fri Feb 19, 2010 4:46 pm

Hi.
I try to have 25-28sec extraction time for my espresso.
Today, I had 15sec pull because of the less coffee that Nino sent in the pf, and while I believed that the coffee would be a watery beverage, it had aromas unknown before with this blend.
Miracle, miracle.
Any comments?

That proves that espresso rules are just guidelines not dogmas.

Did you try it with a slower extraction?
If so - how did the two shots differ?

Look,my espresso machine,a Reneka Techno,has a temperature control capability,and I have set it to 94C.
I wait till the red light goes out,and then I pull some water at about 2sec,and then I put the pf to have my espresso.
Of course,there is a difference between shots,as I wrote before,because the coffee grounds,were not the same in quantity,but instead,there was 16.0g the first time,(slow extraction),while was 14.6g the second time,(fast extraction).

Do you have any pictures on your setup? For fun.
