He drives the point that you don't need super great milk texture to work on your technique, and you also don't need super great espresso crema. AND, you don't waste much money on gallons of milk and pounds of coffee.

A couple of years ago I got fed up with my latte art and did something similar, but with instant coffee and reusing the milk. But I spent way too much time prepping the "espresso like base". This guy just knock them out without wasting a second.

Another trick that he shows, is to put a little bit of milk into water, and froth it. That could also be used for training without wasting tons of milk.

That's fantastic!. I don't drink cappuccinos often enough to get practice. This looks like just the trick.

Great video.

I drink a couple of cortados a week and steam on the Cremina. I have focused on getting "thick paint" in the milk (successfully) and at some point realized I wasn't interested in latte art and just dropped that segment of the cortado prep. Life became easier <grins>>
