Is this a sign of overdosing?

Postby jorgeelizondom on Thu Feb 26, 2009 3:49 pm

Hi,

Even when I check that my tamped PF by locking it and then unlocking it to check that the coffee is not disturbed by the grouphead screen, I'm getting a dirty screen after the shot, is this normal?

The puck looks undisturbed after the pull.

I'm still waiting on my gram scale so I can't wait my dose yet.

Grounds stick to the shower screen whether the dose is low or high. After the shot, an updosed puck that hits the shower screen is dry; a downdosed puck that does not is gooey. Simple.

Even with plenty of headroom, sometimes I have had the entire puck stick to the shower screen when I remove the portafilter and basket.
