If I have to (and that's 'have to') go somewhere for any length of time and I can't get Silvia to come with me, I'll drag along the steamtoy. Rocky if I can, but the Krups burr grinder in a pinch. It'll make an adequate (but just barely) double capp, and is far better than most espresso shops in most lobbies (five for five out of the last five hotels I had to take it to). I tried a 'JavaJoes in the lobby of the hotel I was in this week, and the Krups kicked it's butt, along with the butt of the Starbucks in the neighboring hotel.

Chris, you are crackin' me up! While I'd really love to see you make microfoam on a steam-toy, I'd relish any moment you have to help me figure out the technique to make this happen on my Brewtus (there, I admitted my incompetence- it's even worse than Dan's!). If you're in town this w/e or the next, drop me a line.

I do have to admit that I'm out of practice with the steamtoy. It didn't do too awful great on my last run. I could prolly get something on the Brewt, however, with a little practice. PM sent.

(edit)
Ray and I got together for a coupla cappas and I'm proud to say that my first was pretty, but not art, and my second (from the same frothing-cupful) resulted in a passable rosetta. Ray was able to make microfoam of latte-art quality after watching me do it once, and will be pouring art for you guys to be jealous of in no time, I'm sure.
That copper plated Brewtus looks even better in person. What a beauty! Thanks Ray!
