How to find the right dose? - Page 2

Postby jpreiser on Wed Dec 30, 2009 12:22 am

I have also come to find a dose around 16g to work best for me.

I am currently using 3sec of preinfusion but need to try other settings to see if I can get better shots with my current setup (flojet pump w/o an accumulator until I figure out where drill the holes in the counter for plumbed in).

Finding the correct depth through trial and error is the best way to do it
The tamped puck should be a hairs whisker under the water screen
Once you find the correct depth just mark your tamper and use it as a guide for future reference
I use a Pullman Barista tamper and it has 2mm increment guide lines on the side for my current machine its spot on at 8mm depth
However this method works for me on any machine I use
