I found this awesome stainless steel cocktail whisk at william sonoma for $2.49 and it works great for breaking the lumps faster when doing the weiss distribution method

Now if I could only find something as classy to replace the yogurt cup

Get a stainless steel funnel, small one obviously. Chop the bottom off with a cutting wheel. I haven't tried it, but it sounds good.
