Hi Thanks again.

Drdna. I read your preparation method but I have trouble visualizing the movements with the lid. I flatten the mountains with a needle-like pick by spreading them around, but your way sounds more interesting.

Thanks Dan. I have two different double baskets. One of them has the bottom with straight 90 degree walls and the other is tapered. The second basket is kind of a single-double hybrid basket. When doing very low dosing, the tamper reaches the tapered basket before pressing the grounds all the way. I'll look into getting different baskets and try.

Zin. TX for the link.

I noticed that, by looking at the picture, 'La Marzocco Single Portafilter Basket' is not the same as mine. My LM single basket has taller walls and was only $5. This is my favorite basket BTW. I get nice middle density levels without cloudness and no channeling.

Cheers

Hello, I have a sifter with the 49mm funnel built in. It has a large grid screen, however it doesn't work unless you brush the coffee thru the screen by hand. Maybe if it was full of ground coffee it would work OK, but that it out of the question. It looked promising, but I felt not worth the extra effort.
