I don't find that process very 'easy' considering it's HOTT to the touch... hot enough to make you want to think twice about doing it again. Also, banging a portafilter while trying to hold the filter in with a thumb has given me the pleasure of fishing through a garbage on more than one occasion. I don't see a use for a knockbox...yet.

An oxymoron (plural oxymorons or oxymora) (from Greek ὀξύμωρον, "sharp dull") is a figure of speech that combines contradictory terms.
Works perfectly most of the time is not an oxymoron. I know it sounds like one but it really means it works perfectly most of the time, otherwise it works good enough!!! :wink:

I converted the hopper to my version of close to single dose (the shotglass is just to keep beans from flying out, it doesn't contact the bean column and is usually removed during grinding):
