Does a soggy puck matter?

Postby innermusic on Sat Jan 29, 2011 10:30 pm

I'm a novice at this, so bear with me. I get soggy pucks no matter what I do. Is this a function of a machine with no solenoid? Does a soggy puck make any difference whatsoever in my shots?

As long as the puck is consistent, wet or not, it's fine. For reference, see prior discussions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 ... or just puckology in general. If messy pucks offend, dose a few grams more and/or wait longer before removing the portafilter.
